What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Flipping mirrors the picture, so left and right swap places and any text in the image reads backwards. Rotating turns it, so the picture stays the right way round but stands on a different edge. If your photo is on its side, you want rotate. If you want a mirror image, you want flip.
Why does my selfie look mirrored?
Most phones show you a mirrored preview while you take a selfie, because that's what you're used to seeing in a mirror, and some then save the picture the correct way round. The result is a photo that looks wrong to you and right to everyone else. Mirroring it left to right here gives you back the version you saw on screen.
